Intro

This blog is about my experiences using KiCad and the Neoden 4 Pick-n-Place machine.  There is no documentation on how to assemble the PnP, so I will attempt to take photos and add them to this blog, along with comments. Please stay tuned.

US Customs

Whether you are an individual or a company, you'll likely need to fill out a Customs From 5106. This is required for all imports valued greater than $2000(?). Here is a link to the form: US Custom 5106
Fill out the form and sign it, then scan it. You should contact FedEx (or you carrier) and provide the signed scanned copy of the form. FedEx "1 number for everything" is a huge pain. You want International Freight dept. Good luck with that.

The crate weighs about 200 pounds. FedEx delivered it on a truck with a lift gate and the driver rolled it into my garage using a pallet jack.

3 screws on each side near the bottom, then the entire top comes off as 1 piece.

There are boxes and a tool box strapped down with big cable ties.

I give credit to Neodentech for including a particularly nice long AC cord and also a long VGA cord. They provide a tool box with "ball drivers". These are metric Allen wrenches for adjusting the machine. A+

A packing list would have been good as there are 2 small boxes and a tool box containing parts which are not self explanatory.
